Mettle: Men's Therapy
Mettle is a private practice based in Southport and online, offering therapeutic counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and single-session therapy for adults. The practice was created to offer a straightforward and accessible space for men to talk things through, particularly those who may not usually seek support. While Mettle has a focus on working with men in private practice, all adults are welcome where the approach feels like a good fit.
Alongside private work, Mettle also provides free, in-person counselling through a weekly drop-in clinic at The Salvation Army in Southport, supporting members of the homeless community and the wider Southport adult community who may not otherwise access therapeutic support because of cost.
This additional service is piloted in partnership with The Salvation Army in Southport with intention of becoming an established CIC/Charity for Southport.
Mettle is joining the Zero Suicide Alliance to support wider awareness of suicide prevention and to be part of a network that encourages open conversations and early support. The aim is to contribute to a culture where adults feel able to speak about what they are experiencing, and where those around them feel more confident to respond and support when it matters without their voice shaking on the subject.
